Win-Win Collaborations. Transformational Research.

Mutually beneficial collaborations and groundbreaking research are at the heart of NEWT’s Industrial Membership Program. Our goal is to leverage ‘Win-Win’ academic/industrial collaborations to address the most pressing challenges seen in the fields of drinking and industrial wastewater treatment.

In partnership with Industrial Members, NEWT will enable access to suitable water almost anywhere in the world by developing next-generation high-performance, easy-to-deploy, nanotechnology-based drinking water and industrial wastewater treatment systems. NEWT’s technologies will safely exploit the unique properties of engineered nanomaterials (ENMs) to treat water using fewer chemicals, less electricity and smaller reactors than current technologies, and will enable re-use or regeneration of ENMs to decrease treatment costs.

NEWT and its partners are impacting a fundamental necessity for life: water, a critical resource for economic and social development as well as energy production. Through its fundamental, transformative research and innovative educational programs, NEWT is also playing a significant role in teaching the next-generation workforce to be creative, versatile leaders in the burgeoning industry of sustainable technologies for water treatment.
