Amanda Lounsbury explains the importance of this project: 1) It demonstrates that when we design nanotechnology for water treatment we need to be cognizant of how morphology will impact the functionality of materials and hopefully it means that when we desire a certain function we can identify not just a material that will help actualize that function but also a morphology. 2) It helps to provide an avenue to follow in nano design towards selective adsorption processes rather than general non-selective adsorption that we see in most adsorbents.”
