Mark Falinski, NEWT SLC member, invited to present “A framework for sustainable nanomaterial selection and design: considering cost, hazard, and functional performance”

Congrats to Mark Falinski, NEWT SLC member for being invited by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre to present “A framework for sustainable nanomaterial selection and design: considering cost, hazard, and functional performance” as a part of the workshop on safe and sustainable smart nano materials this March in Ispra, Italy! He will be sharing his research on sustainable nanotech selection and design, learning about emerging evaluation techniques with regards to safety and sustainability, and gaining greater knowledge of regulatory action regarding nanomaterials in the EU. Mark has a BS in Chemical Engineering from University at Buffalo and was awarded the AWWA Thomas R Camp Scholarship in 2017. Joining NEWT in 2016 in the Safety & Sustainability Thrust, he has also served as Yale’s SLC Vice President and helped organize outreach through the NEWT Cafe. This summer, he expects to graduate from Yale University.
